  • Went here because of a review on Check Please Arizona. When you arrive you get a basket with two types of rye bread. Very tasty, don't often get rye bread...no they don't make it but it comes from a good bakery and they use premium butter. Save the bread for dunkin and slurpin if you get the Goulash. I had the Goulash Saturday special. Loved it and cleaned my dish with the bread. Plenty of meat (pork and beef) and sauce was excellent. I agree with the others that the Spaetzle is small and not as appealing as the larger sizes but it was good. If you don't want it covered in gravy you need to let them know. Contrary to what others have indicated, I do not see how it would be possible to microwave it. It would have been a solid ball. It is simply a different texture. For my second side I had the German Potato Salad. Sorry this one didn't look like any of the posted pictures and was fighting to be called average. Just some sliced potatoes and a hint of oil and vinegar. I only saw one small bacon bite. Pretty sure they can do better. Wife has the Jager Schnitzel - just read the good reviews on it...it was as good as promised. Again the Spaetzle (which my wife loves) was ok...just a different texture than she is used to. She enjoyed the red cabbage. YOU MUST EAT THE BLACK FORREST CAKE - enough said. We got there early 4:05 and was seated immediately. Great staff and service. Loved the accordion player. When we left at 5 there was a line of people. But as someone else pointed out; there were plenty of tables in their that just needed cleaned and set. Finally, to the review who said only snowbirds and old codgers eat there and don't know German food...well we are not snowbirds, but I am an old codger...you know that we old codgers have traveled all over the country and a good deal of Europe and we know what good food tastes like...So you may want to consider the people you insult before you do it and keep your review to the restaurant.
