| - I wished I read the Yelp reviews before I called them to get estimate for a new A/C system. My current old unit was supposedly installed by Goettl 30 years ago, I thought maybe customer loyalty will give me better service/pricing. The process took 3 hours! Taking measurements and inspection only took him 15-20 minutes; the rest simply because the "comfort advisor", was chatty.
We started around 3 pm and finally about 6 pm he gave a quote for 4 different "star ratings". He could not tell us about promotion rebates, tax credit, nor military discount we qualified for. He asked, "What kind of pricing we are looking for?" and proceed to say that he 'can call his manager for best price but the price is only for that night and installation by Monday,' nor would he commit to an estimate in writing. He said that Amana is a high quality product, unfortunately that is not true.
Don't believe the chipper, feel-good commercials. The Geottle brand is made up of used car salesman utilizing the same sales tactics for air conditioners as they would cars.
[Update] Goettl rep called my wife in an attempt to guilt-trip her into removing this review, citing how the visiting rep's employment was now in danger. Out of civility, we removed his name from the review, but the above is a factual account of events. The visit was a complete waste of time, especially when no less than five other contractors were able to provide a written estimate within a half hour of their visits without calling in to higher authorities or playing limited time only pricing games.
