  • I desperately needed a new prescription for glasses, and came here because it was the only place I could get an appointment last minute on a Saturday, and I'm so glad it worked out that way! A lot of people have mentioned that this place is more for "custom" frames, but I'd like to clarify that they really specialize in HIGH QUALITY frames (and lenses). Tommy, the owner, is very knowledgable of the various brands, materials, how they're made, and what will last a long time. The styles in the store range from classic to eccentric, but you can trust that all meet Tommy's high quality standard. The doctor is nice, very experienced as a previous reviewer mentioned, and the new prescription he gave me is SPOT ON! Solves every issue I'd been having with the previous prescription. After the exam, I was discussing my options with Tommy. I was honest with him that I had planned to get more affordable glasses at warby parker. However, Tommy is very familiar with the maker of my old glasses (purchased elsewhere), and spoke very highly of the quality of the frames, and encouraged me to just change the lenses. I was ambivalent to give up my glasses for several days since it would be difficult to work. To my surprise, they had my exact prescription in stock, and they changed the lenses in my glasses in just 20 MINUTES!!! Tommy also worked with my insurance, and was very patient while I obsessed over the fit of my frames. He straightened the frames and made fine adjustments as needed. He also gave me lens cleaner solution and cloths took time to show me the best way to maintain the lenses. Overall, a great experience at Central Eyeworks, and I'll certainly return for most optical needs. My impression is that this is an honest and friendly business that desires to help customers find high quality eyewear that will serve them well.
