Based on the reviews here and having lived in NJ I really thought this place would be a true NY style pizza...As soon as I saw the oven I knew this would not be the case. They use a Middleby Marshall oven (same type used by Dominos where the pies are cooked on a conveyor). The real pizza joints in NJ / NY will generally use a Bakers Pride where they drop the pizza, close the oven door in and turn it occasionally with a pizza peal. At the risk of sounding like a pizza nerd, I think the crispiness and flavor of a pizza cooked in the Bakers Pride is superior with the Middleby giving a rubbery texture. The pizza here was somewhat akin to a Dominos pizza. Now they did give me a lot of cheese and were generous with the toppings but for me the crust is crucial...and this crust was just ok. Sorry Phoenix but Venezia is nothing like you get in NY
