Buyer beware of extended warranty. We purchased a new 2013 Toyota Sienna from Larry Miller in December 2012. At that time, Larry Miller also sold us a Landcar extended warranty. Apparently, Landcar is owned by the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. Fast forward to 3 weeks ago, the check engine light and the Trac Off light turned yellow. We have since moved out of AZ so we took our vehicle to our local Toyota dealership in our new state. The new local dealership thinks the Sienna has a burnt valve but Landcar is refusing to cover it because they consider it a wear and tear item. The replacement part is $10,000...that's not what I consider a wear and tear item. Our van is 3 years old and just 3,000 miles over the factory warranty for that part. The dealership in our new state tried contacting Toyota to see if they would be able to cover it under factory warranty as a courtesy. Toyota denied the request because we purchased an extended warranty (which is no good to us because Landcar is refusing to cover it). So we are going around in circles. We will probably end up trading our 3 year old Sienna in for a new Honda Odyssey rather than put $10,000 into it because if something else happens we now know Landcar may not cover it. Toyota has lost our business and should look into Larry Miller for selling their own insufficient warranties that won't even cover replacing a valve. If you buy from Larry Miller, do not buy the Landcar warranty. There may be better options through Toyota corporate.
