  • Not impressed. At first I was excited that there was a Portofino's location opening up close to where I live. When I arrived, I was met with 3 unimaginative cold looking pizzas laid out close to the door exposed to the elements and the biggest black fly I've seen in a long while. That must have been one well fed and happy insect. Anyway, I had already called ahead and ordered the vodka penne with chicken. It was gross. I don't use that word lightly. I could've done better at home. There was no flavor. There was no seasoning. The chicken tasted deliberately bland. I had even dumped a ton of Parmesan cheese in it to rescue the flavor. Nothing was helping. It wasn't cooked with love as they say. I had also ordered a slice of lemon cake. It tasted like it had been sitting in the open air all day. I didn't eat much of any of it. I am beginning to feel that if you are not Mama Ricotta don't try making penne vodka in the Charlotte area. LOL!
