| - I had two, weeklong, back-to-back stays at this hotel in early February 2017. The first week, I was put on the 4th floor, while the 2nd week, I stayed on the Hilton Honors floor (6th floor). Both of my stays were adequate, but not super impressive.
I was checked in by Maliya both times and offered a warm cookie, which was a nice touch. All the staff I interacted with, including Maliya, were friendly and polite. I wasn't asked if I had a Hilton Honors account the first time I checked in, but it was easy to add my reservation when I brought it up. The second time I checked in, I was asked for my Hilton Honors information early on; I'm not sure if this is what got me a room on the 6th floor during my 2nd stay (I'm only a Silver member).
The rooms are sufficiently appointed and clean, and the room area is pretty spacious. However, the 2 major downfalls of the room layout for me, which I think other reviewers have noted, are (1) the tiny, tiny bathroom, and (2) the position of the closet doors, which makes it impossible to open the front door while the closet doors are open. The bathroom size was the most annoying in my opinion; there was no counter space, so I had no place to put any of my toiletries or make-up. Moreover, I'm a pretty tiny person, but when I was in the shower, I felt like I was always knocking my hip against the safety bar, or brushing up against the shower curtain, or elbowing 1 of the 2 soap dishes--I can't imagine what it must be like for a bigger person to try to shower in that space. Otherwise, the bathroom was clean and the water pressure/temperature were fine both weeks I stayed.
Room service was okay--the positives for me were the menu selection, friendliness of the staff, and timely delivery of the food. I appreciated that the menu tried to offer some "local" dishes and that there were 3 pages of things to order from by the time dinner rolled around. Objectively, some of the items were repetitive (I think steak and crab cakes featured on 2 or 3 pages), but it's nice that they made an effort to give the menu some variety. I never had to wait more than 25 minutes for my food, even when I splurged and basically ordered 2 entrees some nights. When I ordered breakfast delivery, it always arrived right at the time I wrote on the door tag, and even sometimes a minute or 2 before; this differed from my experience at the nearby Sheraton, where you chose a 15-minute window, and my food always came at the end of that window, or sometimes even after. My favorite non-breakfast menu items were the apple walnut salad (not on the menu in the room, but offered when I asked about salads on the phone) and the salmon. Both these items were beautifully presented too, although I found the salmon to by small for my appetite. My favorite breakfast menus were the banana walnut French toast, which was very tasty and decadent, and the pancakes, which also generously came with a choice of breakfast meat and eggs.
The main downsides of room service during my stay were (1) it was hard to get someone on the phone after 8 pm (room service closes at 11 pm); I was directed to voicemail several times because the restaurant was "busy," which is hard for me to imagine is true, since it always looked nearly empty to me when I walked by, and (2) 1 night, I put my door tag breakfast order out, only to find, the next morning, that no one had taken it. You can order breakfast the morning of, and there's also breakfast places nearby--Sheetz is 24 hours--but it was annoying to have to come up with ideas at 6 in the morning. Like all hotels, the food is pretty pricy, and room service even more so.
Overall, I had an okay stay both times I was here, but nothing great stood out, and there were even some things that actively soured my experience. I think my rating would be closer to 2.5 stars if you had the ability to give half-stars on Yelp.
