| - Tucked away behind the grand promenade (Think the Walgreens @ WT Harris and Tryon), Pho Real is the real deal when you want a delicious, filling broth bowl at a great price!
The restaurant itself is quite open and spacious. They've decorated with vivid colors and contemporary lighting, definitely not extravagant but I'm here for Pho not brunch at the Four Seasons! It is clean, appealing, and inviting; more than good enough for me.
First timers are most likely going to be drawn to the 'Most popular Bowl' and while that is a solid choice, I prefer the more savory broth that comes with the Hu Tieu (Pronounced Who-Two). It's a blend of many different stocks and feature slices of chicken, seafood, and pork pieces with your choice of noodles.
Start with the "Just Right" size bowl and if you're still hungry afterwards the prices are affordable enough to get something else like the Grilled Pork Spring Rolls. The larger size bowl they call the "Train" is big enough to make a wedding cake with. Seriously, I didn't know restaurants could get ceramic bowls that big, like 'family size salad' big!
Other than the Pho and other broth offerings, I have given their Fried Rice dish a try as well and it's very good, but for newcomers just 'go with the Pho!'
Bubble Teas are very good, I wasn't a big fan of the tapioca balls as first, but I don't know, it's growing on me...yeah I'm a fan somehow. I get the Strawberry bubble tea every visit now. For the adventurous, they have a Durian Flavored one... I'm not that adventurous!
I'm trying to break the habit I have of not getting Pho at other restaurants, because these guys have set the bar for me. If I can't break it, eh... I'll live!
