My significant other and I had just eaten a $600 meal and wanted to walk it off. It was her first time in Vegas, so I took her on a jaunt around the Venetian. We walked around and people watched, I showed her the gondolas and then...we seemed lost. Maybe it was the copiuous amounts of alcohol, or maybe I just made a wrong turn along the way.
But when I thought I was lost, I found something good: a random, tiny brewery inside one of the major casinos in all of Vegas. People were gathered, over-spilling on seats and chugging nicely crafted beer. Two 24-ounce beers for $22? In Vegas? I found heaven. The gates opened.
My mate and I ordered Sin City IPA -- a beer with an aromatic hoppy nose and a hint of caramel. The taste going down really hit the spot; not too brash but enough to show its presence. The 6.5% ABV was something much appreciated. Service was swift, the scene was fun and we ended up carrying our beers for the long walk down the strip. Needless to say, nothing is more meta than drinking Sin City beer in Sin City -- and living to tell about it.
