| - What a story! Walked up to the guest window and no pricing. Donations accepted! I don't mind it. Be generous! I'm sure helps them with the up keep. Our greeter is a retired man with stories! Really cool hearing his experiences at Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary. No map, it's verbal. But you won't get lost.
Never had a conversation with a bird, until here. I have a favorite - happy pretty bird. Man that bird is conceited. Every time we walked up to the cage it started dancing for us singing "ima pretty bird". And yet I couldn't help giving it attention.
Then there's stalker bird inside the Flight Aviary building with its middle claw. Wow! Who's the one locked in the cage dude? We were invited back, by the way, told to come back earlier in the morning when those 'outspoken birds'... well they say more than they should, unpolitely. It's trippy and we might just come back for that hahahaaa.
You guys remember Charlotte's Web? We saw Wilbur! I didn't wanna say awww and hug the piggy or anything. Just thought it looked like Wilbur. This place has pot bellies, horses, donkeys, goats, a sheep, llamas, tons of exotic birds.
Suggestion: wear comfy closed toe shoes (not high heeled peep toe tennies - Vinny and Don) hahahaaa. The pavement is uneven, dusty, and there are slight small rocky inclines towards the back where the llamas are. Oh also bring a water bottle for yourself. There is a vending machine though in case. Glad I got to visit this place. Thanks for the suggestion Micah. Fly swatter video for ya'.
I know they accommodate school age field trips. Great idea to spend family time with kids here. They have an outdoor amphitheater here and what appeared to be covered picnic tables. Should probably inquire if holding an event, but it looks like they have the space for it.
Visit is worth a little drive from south east. It doesn't take all day to spend here. You'll definitely get a kick out of the birds... Not the goats but who knows. You can go in to pet the goats hopefully they really don't kick you. Have a blast and don't forget a device to record with!
