We had Cox for over 3 years. It was fine. We used it only for internet and streaming. Paid $75/mo. We recently moved and wanted our service transferred to the new house. Turned out they needed to lay cables first to do it. They spray painted all over our property. I mean it looks ridiculous. They said they would schedule a work order and that we would be informed of the date. We never heard from anyone. Over the course of the next 2 weeks, we called and spoke to two different reps that assured us they would get us an answer and call us back. Again, we heard nothing. After 4 weeks, we called again. We were on hold for over 45 minutes, transferred to 4 different people. They had it noted out estimated date for the work order was January 2015. This was requested in August of 2014! Finally we asked to speak to a supervisor hoping someone could just get us a direct answer only to be on hold for over 10 minutes. We finally hung up. We cancelled our service and went with a carrier that actually values their customers and can get us set up in 5 business days at $40.00/mo.
Monopolies only last so long. Consumers demand good customer service.
