| - Encore is the newer addition to the Wynn resort and is one of the best options on the strip to be close to the action while enjoying some peace and quiet. Although connected to the Wynn, the Encore has a separate entry and reception desk and other hotel features. They are located at the far north end of the "strip" near the Fashion Show Mall. It is the tall building with the word Encore on the top.
The interior of the hotel is restrained luxury with lavish decoration. There is a strong red theme throughout the hotel likely to attract Asian audiences, but the overall feel of the hotel and casino is bright and open with lots of windows and atriums. Encore has a separate spa with lots of great treatments and a small pool with a family and European (topless!) area. I found the moms and dads in the family area more interesting than those in the adult section, although your results may vary!
The hotel rooms are really, really nice. I stayed in a King mini-suite with separate sleeping and living areas separated by a large HDTV that rotates for both sides. Everything is automated controlled with wall and bedside controls. The interior is clean and elegant with excellent sheets and fluffy towels. I loved the bathroom with a large shower and soaking tub perfect for one. Fitting two people in the shower is much easier!
The casino is much smaller than most with only a limited selection of games. It is nice to get to the rooms without navigating a massive casino area. Encore is connected to the Wynn casino including the use of the same Red Card players club which allows a larger selection of games.
Encore is also the closest hotel to the famed clubs. XS, Surrender, and Encore Beach Club (obviously) are located on property, and hotel guests can book reservations much easier for these hot places.
The biggest downside of the Encore is the location. People wanting to see shows or experience the mayhem of the strip will have to walk or Lyft a lot staying here. However, I found this to be a nice escape from the crazy during my visit and found it very easy to use ride share or walk to most places.
Encore and Wynn have world class restaurants which are reviewed separately on Yelp. Encore has full room service with an extensive menu for those not wanting to leave the beautiful room. Most of the restaurants are priced very high, but you can cross the street to the mall or other fast food options nearby.
This is a true five star resort with extensive and tasteful luxury. You will pay for the privilege, but deals are possible for those who look. Encore is aggressive with their players club and is worth joining. Even if you just wander around and gamble or get a craft cocktail, the Encore is a refreshing and enjoyable alternative to the other strip resorts.
