Went to Saku yesterday for a Mon-date with the BF after work. I arrived before him and was asked at the door if I had a reservation, to which I said no. 2 minutes pass and realized the restaurant was about 2/3 full. She had split a 4 person table for us and sat us down in the middle of three 2-person tables. The waitress was friendly and placed some water down and asked if I would like anything else to drink. BF arrived and we ordered the edamame as an app and 3 special rolls : Saku, Energy, and Atlantic Queen.
What I'm about to say may come as a surprise but must be said: the quality of this place has gone down. The first time I came here and ordered one of the sushi sets here - that was fantastic. The sushi was fresh and everything we ordered was tasty. My return visit however, was just alright. I don't think I'll return for these reasons:
1. the rolls this time were poorly made..rice was mushy, and the presentation was sloppy
2. there wasn't anything different between the taste of the rolls - it was fish, sauce and rice
=( I really wanted to love you again Saku, I really did...*sniff
Our bill came to ~$25 a person with 3 rolls, edamame and a pint of Sapporo and the Yelp check-in special - I pointed out to the waitress that Sapporo was on special for Monday and she corrected the mistake on our bill.
