So, many people keep commenting on how clean this gym is, but I very strongly disagree. I have had a membership for about a year. I go pretty sporadically and every time I have gone and tried to get into a routine, I have gotten sick within a week. A lot of gyms have spray bottles and towels at every few machines for members to use and are expected to use. This is not the case at L.A. there are two paper towel and sanitizer dispensers up stairs and downstairs, but no one uses them and it doesn't seem to get the job done. So, even if you use the sanitizer, it is difficult to get rid of all the built up germs and sweat.
On top of the cleanliness issue, I felt pretty humiliated by one of the personal trainers there. They let you have a free session every so often. Well, I took a free session and afterwards she pressured me to sign up and was pretty condescending when I said I couldn't afford it. I'm a recently married graduate student still paying off my undergrad loans so 45 dollars a month on top of the 20 for the gym membership is just not going to happen. She said everyone has a dollar fifty a day to spare. Well honey, I don't.
