What is all the hype about? Seemed like Hash House A Go Go was a good breakfast joint with over 2,700 reviews averaging 4 stars. Unfortunately, my experience was mediocre at best.
SERVICE
Impeccable service by a friendly and knowledgeable server. Forgot his name but he was very polite.
FOOD
My server briefly went over the menu and said their scrambles are popular so I went with their Farm Scrambles. There are three options of different ingredients and I went with #3 which came with sun-dried tomato, basil and goat cheese.
It is $11.99 and is a generous portion. Served with griddled mashed, crispy potato, fresh fruits with a choice of toast or homemade biscuit. Their homemade biscuit was extremely dry, similar to the one from Popeye's chicken. Crispy potato was overdone and was way past crispy. Scramble itself wasn't anything special. Made with tomato and basil with goat cheese sprinkled on top. Meh.
Another thing. I'm sorry to say this but I HATE the rosemary sprig they use for toasts and biscuits. First of all, it looks like a grass growing out from toast/biscuit and second of all, I hate the strong scent that comes out of it. The smell made me sick and I immediately lost my appetite when I accidentally brushed against it.
CONCLUSION
Great service, mediocre food. I don't see myself coming back here again unless they stop using the rosemary sprig.
