Not to pick on you, Rockside location, you just happened to be the one I visited today. My beef with Starbucks is the same at all locations. I just never feel welcome there. The store layout always feels like it's made only for regulars who know the whole menu by heart, not for people like me who only frequent Starbucks a few times a year and don't remember what a Frappuccino is. I really hate how you cannot see the menu board while you're in line, and so when you finally get to the front and can start reading what your options are, everyone behind you is impatient and annoyed that you aren't already prepared to order. It also seems illogical that they have all these snacks displayed on a table that you don't see at all until after you've ordered and are waiting for your drink. I wonder if anyone has ever purchased one.
Today I tried a S'mores Frappuccino, which apparently comes topped with about 2 cups of whipped cream. I wish I had known that before I ordered so I didn't have to try to scrape it off into the tiny hole of the trash can and get my hands all sticky. The cup comes with some chocolaty stuff and some marshmallowy stuff squirted into the bottom, with the frozen coffee drink on top. It's not mixed in at all. Do people actually want their drinks like this? What's the point? Why don't they just mix it together? I don't think mine was a mistake because I saw other drinks coming out this way too. If I'm paying $5 for this thing, I expect it to come ready to drink and not have to try to finish mixing it myself.
I'll probably continue my relationship with Starbucks as it's been for the past decade. After several months have passed I'll forget why I don't like it and go back just to be annoyed all over again.
