  • i came here to be induced but ended up getting a c section. i am in love with this hospital! The staff is amazing, there wasn't one nurse who wasnt compassionate and kind to me. The staff is 'baby friendly' so they can all assist with breastfeeding, learning to change diapers, learning to swaddle, and properly take care of the baby. During my time at San Martin I had at least six nurses, my favourite one was an extremely tall white woman with glasses ( i forgot her name ) she helped my significant other swaddle and change his first diaper, she also calmed me down when i was hysterically crying as i was whisked away to unexpectedly give birth via c section. The hospital provided food for not only me but my boyfriend during the three days i was there and they provided us lunch just before we discharged. We were given a birthday cake that says "Congratulations" and we are currently freezing it at home. When i registered at the hospital i listed my food allergies and the staff went put of their way to make sure they didnt feed me anything i was allergic to. The staff is so kind that when i given italian dressing for a salad i was going to eat for lunch, a woman came to my room and gave me ranch because she wasnt sure if the Italian dressing was made with tomatoes. I am extremely thankful for the staff and medical team at San Martin and my only complaint is due to the fact that when one of the nurses drew blood from my daughter's foot (my baby has extremely dry skin & (anyone can see that) the nurse placed absent-mindedly stuck a bandaid onto dry the blood; in turn the bandaid was practically glued to her foot two days later and i had to soak it with baby oil to get it off of her foot without pulling off skin and making her cry. So my suggestion next time would be to ask for a cotton ball or something to stop the blood instead of placing a bandaid on extremely dry skin. All in all, the care was incredible and if i still live in Las vegas in a few years i will gladly come back and have my next baby here. pros: - amazing medical care - people came to clean the room and bathroom everyday we were there - "baby friendly" knowledgeable about babies and how to care for them - very kind staff - food is pretty decent and they definitely give big enough portions for breastfeeding mothers cons: - someone was a little airheaded when it came to treating my baby
