If you are looking for new sneakers make this your first (and only) stop. They are incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating.
I just started running again and knew I needed better shoes. To start the process they measure your foot both standing and propped up. They also measure your arch with and without standing to see if it collapses at all. I never knew my left foot was half a size bigger than my right! But it does explain why I sometimes have issues buying shoes.
The next step is that they watch your gait, either from you walking or being on the treadmill. I learned that I have pretty severe over pronation so I need a sneaker with a good deal of support in the ankle. Once they knew what I needed, they brought out several pairs and styles. I'm an 11.5 women's, not an easy size to find and they actually had several pairs. Ultimately I ended up with a men's pair of asics that feel like walking on a cloud.
Something that I want to note is how accommodating they were to the fact I had my twins with me. They were getting a little restless and not only was the staff patient, they did what they could to keep them happy and entertained. In many places you get evil glares instead of help when you have kids with you, so huge kudos to the staff for being so incredibly amazing.
In addition to the sneakers, the store also has a selection of running/workout apparel and running socks.
I left purchasing a pair of sneakers and socks and wore them for a race the next day.
I highly recommend shopping at fleet feet!
