| - We stayed at the Flamingo in 2016. Previously, we had eaten at the buffet inside it and really enjoyed it. However, the quality of the buffet did not reflect the hotel service.
Negatives:
- First room was filthy upon arrival. I'm talking unmade beds with stained sheets, garbage everywhere, hair in the shower, etc. Many signs that the room had not cleaned since the last guests. Called the front desk to have someone clean it. After waiting an hour (after our 8-hour flight), we realized that no one was coming. We gathered everyone up and went back down to the lobby. After a good bit of complaining, we did receive a room upgrade (a view of Caesars Palace) and $40 dining credit, but we were pretty exhausted at this point.
- There were people constantly bugging you about free show tickets in exchange for listening to some timeshare junk. I'm not sure really what it was all about, but I wasn't interested in doing anything like that while on vacation. It became annoying - to the point where my family and I purposely avoided the lobby.
Positives
- Very central to most of the action in Vegas. This was good for my older parents who have a difficult time walking for long periods.
- The in-house buffet was still excellent.
- Some interesting historical stuff around, given the Flamingo's connection with Bugsy Siegel. It's a shame that it hasn't been taken care of seeing as the oldest running hotel on the strip.
- Most of the time was pretty uneventful in negative ways, after the first day (when the room was straightened out and we started avoiding the lobby)
In short, it's not horrible, especially if you can get a Groupon but be prepared for some inconveniences.
