  • My fiancé and I decided to stop by because we had purchased a 2-Groupon deal for this place a while back. Our first impression was that there weren't many clientele for 5:00 pm on a Saturday evening. When you first walk in it feels like the place is dirty and it doesn't help that it is located next to a gentlemens club. The bar counter we sat at was sticky and the station where the owner was cooking looked really greasy with all his tools being dirty. He did wear gloves when handling the food which is good but it didn't take away from how disorganized and dirty the place was. I ordered a #6 which was a deluxe double cheeseburger, with a large chili dog, fries and a drink. When I went to fill my cup from the drink machine, the machine could not dispense water. Not sure if it's connected to a water source or it's broken. I went with Diet Pepsi instead which to no surprise it was flat and tasted moldy. The food was mediocre at best but I will admit that I did like the burger. It tasted good but it was runny. The mayo seems to be more watered down then regular mayo. The chili was not impressive at all which makes me question as to why it's called "famous chili". The fries were extremely greasy and tasted as they were fried twice. The owner asked us if we wanted to dine in or take out and I said take out. I didn't feel comfortable dining in a place with no other people in it. Anything I would have discussed with my fiancé the owner would have heard across the bar. There was no music playing just a faint TV sound in the background. As far as price goes, it is overpriced for a fast food place. Along with the $10 off Groupon we ended up paying around $17 on top of that. $27 for 2 mediocre burger meals sounds extremely expensive and to be honest I'd rather have a decent burger at a restaurant for less money. After our meal we felt disgusting and later when we got home my fiancé got sick and threw up his meal. We have another Groupon for this place but we will NEVER go back. We learned from that mistake. To the owner: The chili is just not good. When you base your whole business around your "famous" chili and your chili is subpar then do you really have a business? I think major changes need to take place in order for this business to survive, including practicing proper sanitation techniques. When your food doesn't taste good and makes customers sick then customers won't ever step foot at your place again.
