| - TYPICAL USED CAR SALES! ZERO INTEGRITY!
In January I helped my 18 yr old buy her 1st car, a Volkswagen Toureg. The Car Connection pretended to relate as parents, as if they cared about the sale to my daughter. They told me to contact them should problems arise. They assured me that they cared mostly about their customers satisfaction and would always take care of us to ensure we were happy about buying a car from them.
5 mths later (beginning of summer & 1st attempt using the AC) we find the Air Condition doesn't work. We took it to our local mechanic (who btw, has the most respected reputation in Oro Valley - if not in the state). He told us it would cost $700+ to fix the air compression and blower. He advised us to call the people who sold us the car bc this should certainly be covered under a reasonable warranty. A CAR SOLD IN ARIZONA SHOULD HAVE WORKING AC. The owner at Car Connection was nice for about 2 minutes of conversation - until I expressed concerns about being charged for a repair on a car that we bought only 5 short months ago - especially a function that SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHECKED BEFORE IT SOLD. HE YELLED OVER ME. wouldn't let me speak, wouldn't listen to me. I hung up very angry before realizing I STILL, after SEVERAL REQUESTS, had never received the extra key nor the new console, replacing the one that was broken upon purchase. They promised to fix the console or find a replacement online... SO I called back to at least demand the extra key to the LEMON we now own. The "secretary" said she would not take my message because I was too angry. NO KIDDING? OF COURSE I WAS ANGRY! WHY WOULDN'T I BE?
I then decided to investigate their reputation from a few local phoenix dealers - who freely confirmed that these people are "very sketchy" and typically fly under the radar, with issues that tend to be unreportable but definitely lacking of integrity!
NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE!
** I just read a reply from Tom the owner of Car Connection, to another customer's bad review. He said, "Every effert is made to insure you are buying a quality product for a fair price" (yes, that is the way he spelled effort) --- THIS IS COMPLETELY NOT TRUE!
Not even 2 minutes worth of effort was made for us. He became confrontational immediately! His words, verbatim: "How do I know the AC was broken when you purchased the car? You should have let us known sooner" - We didn't test the AC because we bought the car in the winter. You don't use AC in the winter, even in AZ.
**Also interesting to find another customer has almost the same complaint about their AC as we did.
**And a third customer review used the same word that was used while we received further advisement from local businesses today - "this place is sketchy!" --- interesting common description.
