| - Don't go here. I'll start with: I got my wedding dress here. It's beautiful. But, I got a call on Thursday, telling me that I had to pick my dress up by 8pm on Friday. I live in D.C., so that's not easily done. I asked if I could get it on Monday, when I'd be in town, and was told that I couldn't do that, I absolutely had to pick it up by Friday at 8pm or they couldn't guarantee what would happen to it, because the store was closing. Lucky, a family member was able to get it for me. I called to ask what would happen with the alterations I'd paid for, which hadn't been completed. They gave me the seamstress' number. I called back to ask them to include my veil with the dress, and left a message. I called again to confirm that they'd gotten the message, because I didn't want my mom to have to deal with it. I called a third time on Friday and left another message, making sure that my veil wasn't still sitting there. I never received a call back. Luckily, the veil was included with the dress.
So I called the seamstress yesterday to find out how to get the dress to her. Turns out- the store didn't close, and I was told to bring the dress back there. I checked the hours online, and called to confirm that they're open until 8. No one answered, so I left a message (bold choice, given my previous experience), but their voicemail says they're open until 8pm, so I went for it. They have a typewritten sign on the door, saying they close at 6 during the summer. Do they not think people might want to know that before they arrive at the door??
Luckily, someone was there and she allowed me to drop off the dress. I asked why I'd been told that I needed to get it, and was told that they're was a "mix up." I don't know what that mix up was, but I would not trust someone who get confused about whether they were closing forever to help me choose a wedding dress.
