I don't think the food holds up to the snooty ambience. Spoon is the kind of place you bring someone you want to impress, because the sommelier brings you a separate tiny glass for each wine you taste, and there's 10 waiters for every table. Honestly, I think that's where most of the money you spend on the food goes. Even before I went vegetarian, I found the food lackluster (adding foie gras to things doesn't automatically make them delicious), and now there's definitely nothing to write home about.
Also, a warning: we came here for a work dinner (~20 people), and they just kept opening more bottles of wine without asking. Be careful that you don't forget about your magically refilling glass!
