This place used to be ok, not too smoky, lively and had good food. I stopped by Saturday evening because my husband and I wanted to try our hands at Megabucks, but didn't want to deal with the crowds on the strip. It was pretty dead and it was smokier than imagined. The smoke level seemed to be almost on par with casinos back in the 80's and early 90's, it was pretty bad. The non-smoking section offers a 1-2 second respite from the smoke and then you're back to wheezing and bloodshot eyes. I don't know what happened to this place. I'm thinking it all went downhill when the Pancake House left, but I don't come in here on a regular basis. Maybe GVR just got hit really hard when the economy started tanking.
We didn't play any of the tables, but the slots and other gaming machines were not giving anything up. Maybe a quarter or dollar here and there, but I didn't see or hear anyone winning while we were there.
