| - First, the physical space itself is absolutely gorgeous with wooden floors and high ceilings that maintain their original tin designs. It's huge and never that crowded compared to the Shadyside location. The music flow classes have fun, upbeat playlists to get you pumped, and the staff and teachers are all very friendly.
This athletic "power" style of yoga, however, is not for everyone. If you practice yoga for an intense cardio workout to burn tons of calories, then Amazing Yoga will go above and beyond. The room is heated to around 90 degrees, and the sequences are very fast-paced and movement intensive. It seems like the whole point is to get you absolutely exhausted halfway through class before the final "cool down" stretching.
What Amazing Yoga lacks for me is variety, creativity, and depth beyond the exercise component. You know exactly what you will get out of each class, with very few surprises. There is minimal emphasis on prana flow, unique sequencing, or actual instruction for challenging poses. This studio is very popular probably due to its mainstream appeal, but for those who lean toward more eccentric vinyasa styles, search elsewhere.
