My sincere thanks to Biomechanix Physical Therapy, Craig and Kayla for patiently working with me and customizing a therapy plan to fit my needs. I am thrilled with the results!
I am a long time diabetic and slowly over the last couple of years have been experiencing tripping, loss of balance, inability to climb stairs and falling due to diabetic neuropathy. I was becoming reticent about leaving the house and losing my independence. I started using a cane. I asked my primary PA about physical therapy and she recommended Biomechanix.
I discussed my problems and fears with Craig. He evaluated my condition and we immediately started on a strengthening and stretching program customized for the challenges I faced. He gave me some exercises to do between visits. The positive results became apparent within the first few visits. Each therapy session changed to accommodate both my progress and strength. I felt motivated to try harder, and "feel the burn", always encouraged by the staff.
The results and progress I experience and continue to have, I feel, are due to the constant reevaluation and change in therapy routine. It has been and continues to be challenging but well worth the effort. I now walk without a cane and can cautiously go up and down stairs. I am now capable of getting up if I fall which was a major concern plus my independence and confidence has been restored. The discomfort of neuropathy at night has lessened considerably, I would say almost gone. I feel great! Thank you Biomechanix.
PS. I will be 82 in February and have been diabetic for 50 years. I'm out and about with confidence!
