Do yourself a favor and don't use Conn's credit offerings to purchase items. I learned the hard way. If you buy something that costs $2200 and you get into an installment contract, they report your amount financed to the credit bureau as the balance owing! Which means they neglect to accurately report the actual balance you owe each month. This seriously messes up your FICOs because it means that eventhough you have a credit limit of $6000 you've "used" $4400 if you stick by their proposed payment plan. Nevermind that they offer you 12 months same as cash with 0% interest. Cars are financed the same way but you don't see backs reporting the amount you would owe with interest as the current balance; it's calculated each month as you make your payments. I called their Customer Service to voice my complaint but they are apathetic. I was told that this is the #1 complaint they receive and that I should write in (which I did) but until enough people complain, they doubt anything will change. Conn's in Texas already got slapped with fines for deceptive practices but I don't see anything for their Nevada locations. Shame on you Conn's! I've filed a complaint with BBB. Let's see what happens.
