First let me preface this by saying I once had my own cupcake business, so I hold cupcakes to a pretty high standard. I base every place off their ability to make a standard vanilla cake.
My bf had gone to Walmart and called and asked if I wanted a cupcake. We've seen it a few times but we hadn't visited yet.
Service: well I was on FaceTime with him, and the girl at the counter seemed incredibly annoyed that someone came in 10 mins before close. A. You still had a ton of cupcakes to sell (cases were nearly full) B. You're in customer service honey, suck it up.
Cupcakes: huge! They really are giant. There were so many flavors I wanted him to bring home, but decided on doodah. I don't know that I would classify it as vanilla, probably white cake. But it was moist, perfect amount of crumb, and a teeny bit of perfectly sprinkled jimmies cooked into the batter.
Frosting: this is where most places in my opinion fail. I hate that gritty texture, coats the roof of your mouth overly sweet frosting. This was spot on. Tons of jimmies on top, but I knew that goin into this cupcake.
My bf got a red velvet. IMHO that could've been a bit better. The frosting was darn near spot on though. You can not do rv cake without cream cheese frosting. That's just a big fat NO! So kudos for keepin it traditional on that. Just wish the cake had a bit more of the tang that makes it red velvet.
My review would've been a 5 if the service wasn't lacking. I'll go back, in hopes of better service and hopefully more fantastic cupcakes.
