Not a fan.... I felt like a cafe mocha this morning, and wanted to try one from somewhere I hadn't been before. My mistake in choosing this place.
Well, I guess what I had could be described as a mocha...sorta? It wasn't very rich, and was way too sweet. It kind of tasted like I was sipping on maple syrup; and it tasted nothing like espresso, milk, or chocolate--you know things you'd expect a mocha to taste like. I'd describe the experience similar to having a craving for a chocolate truffle and trying to satisfy it with a Tootsie Roll. I think it's because they use a Creme de Cacao syrup instead of a chocolate sauce or powder. Doesn't work for me, but if that's what they prefer more power to 'em.
The inside was dark, but kind of nice in a casual, neighborhood hangout sort of way. But the barista's stone-faced hello, and the cashier's blank stare did nothing to endear me to this place. With so many other coffee options available I don't plan on returning.
