  • Have driven by this place a thousand times and recently had a customer tell me how good it was so we have been looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately we are one and done. It gets a star for having nice cold beer and a tremendous selection. Like everything though it is a little pricey. We got a jalapeno popper / fried zucchini appetizer that was OK. We also got two orders of the Cod and chips and were greatly disappointed. The cod was greasy and not that flavorful. I have had my share of bland meals in the UK on many trips but its usually fresh. This was not. After we ordered, I saw the chips on another customer's plate and knew we were in trouble. They may have been the worst "chips" or fries I have ever had. They were cold and must have been cooked hours before. I have always said I would eat anything that is fried and that is no longer true. Its sad when a tiny amount of effort isn't expended to make something worthwhile. Is it really that hard to make some fresh fries when people order them? There were only 3 tables of people in the place so it wasn't like they were overwhelmed. The people were very nice but the food could not be eaten. We both felt sick the rest of the night over the little bit we actually did force down. The bill ended up being $50 before tip for one appetizer, 4 beers and two cod and chips. Painful if its good. Brutal when its not.
