| - I emailed Sands to get more information on a deal on the site. Long story short, the deal listed is not only misleading, but not even close.
First, the picture of the car listed with the deal isn't the right model. The picture of the car is for the hatch version, when the sedan is the only one that is eligible for the promotion. It also isn't mentioned anywhere in the fine print that the sedan is the only model.
Second, the deal lists out a price, then shows how much money is off of the MSRP. Normally when a retail price is mentioned, it's for a purchase of the vehicle. Not in this case, it's only for people who want to lease! Again misleading. If you want to pay cash, well you can't get the deal. Again it doesn't mention this in the fine print
Third, the deal advertises a certain MPG the car will get. According to the EPA the MPG advertised is about 5MPG off. I'm not even sure if that is LEGAL to falsely advertise the MPG the car will get.
When I inquired about the special it took a few days for somebody to respond. When people do respond they don't respond to the actual inquiry, or they beat around the question asked and try to divert attention. When inquiring why the advertisement says one thing and shows one thing but the actual deal is different, they just respond back rudely with, "it's in the fine print, and the artwork is for illustration only". The worst part is the fine print didn't mention the information that was being inquired about, hence the inquiry.
If you advertise 5000 off a Truck, and then put a picture with the special of a crew cab, extended bed truck with 4 wheel drive written down the side....don't be upset when you lose customers because they were expecting that truck, and not a work truck, 2 seater, short bed with 2 wheel drive completely stripped down that you don't ever mention is the only eligible vehicle for the deal!
