  • Do not use David Sweet with Sweet AC! We called our Home Warranty Company (American Home Shield), and were told David with Sweet AC would be out to repair one of our AC Units. My husband made the appointment on a Monday for an appointment on Wednesday between 7 am-12 pm. (first red flag- he needs a 5 hour window, really?!) Anyway, my husband wasn't aware of an appointment I had already set for that same day, so I called to reschedule that same morning the appointment was made (Monday morning). I was told by David directly to keep the appointment because he would make me the first appointment of the day and guaranteed to be there between 7-8 am. I repeatedly made it clear to him that if I kept the appointment as he advised, I needed to be walking out the door by 9:30 am, or else I would be late for the other scheduled appointment. Well, I should have gone with my instincts, because come Wednesday morning by 9 a.m., I had heard nothing from David. No phone call, no knock on the door, and I could only reach his voice mail when I called to see where he was at/reschedule. As a courtesy, I decided since he hadn't shown up or called, to leave a message on my door telling him we'd have to reschedule because he hadn't kept his commitment (mind you, it was now 9:15 am, 1-2 hours past when he said he'd be there and 15 minutes from when I needed to be walking out the door). Suddenly, my husband texted me from work to say David had just tried calling him. Significant because on both my voice message and the physical message left on the door I left my phone number (different from my husbands), which begs the question- If he can't even get the phone number correct with so many reminders, what kind of attention to detail (or lack thereof) is going to be given when fixing something as important as my AC unit. At any rate, after my husband's text, I tried calling David again. He finally answered and said he had just seen the message on my door. I asked what his story was and why he hadn't shown up when promised, to which he replied, "you said you didn't have to leave until 9:30 am". Are you kidding?! It was now 9:20 am, and he expected me to believe he could look at AND repair my AC Unit in 10 minutes?! What kind of half-baked, rushed job should I expect to receive if he thought 10 minutes would be satisfactory! I reminded him he had agreed to make me the 1st appointment of the day and be there between 7-8 am (all his ideas). Thus, I told him at this point, we'd either need to reschedule or I could call American Home Shield back and have someone else come out and repair it. His reply, "fine then", and he hung up on me!! Hung. up. on. me! Unbelievable to act so unprofessional when it was all his own doing! I kept my end of the bargain, what about you, David?! Anyway, before he hung up on me I asked what his story was for showing up so late, without getting so much as a call...His excuse: He was on another job, finishing up work from the day before. Well, so much for his word when he promised to make me the 1st appointment of the day! Moral of this story: Don't waste 3 days waiting around for an appointment from this guy when he clearly will just waste your time, with no attempts to communicate a huge appointment delay...That is, unless you like playing babysitter to your AC Repairman. In hopes that he does not inconvenience other folks with his poor customer service and time-management abilities, I have also reported him to the home warrant company.
