| - Definitely a tourist attraction and NOT for locals. The staff at the counter were NOT knowledgable about guns at all. The women that were hired were there to just "look good" because when I asked them questions about guns behind the counter, they could not answer them. Ridiculous. Go ahead and hire good looking women, but at least train them on proper knowledge about guns.
Also, if you're looking for a lot of freedom in this range, this is NOT the place to go. For one, they don't let you touch or feel the guns before shooting. (At American Shooters, they let you feel/grip the guns all you want so that you can pick out which gun you're comfortable with before shooting). When you get out on the actual range, they don't let you pick and choose how far your target is. It is at a set distance. At other local ranges, you can move the target at the distance that you please. On top of that, you can't use your own ammo here. Nor can you load your own mag!!! When you actually go and shoot, the guy held my hand the whole time on the gun before I shot. I get it- they're trying to be extra safe, but this is mostly a tourist attraction and not a local range to go to every week to practice.
Pricing is okay. For regular handguns, it's typically $20 and that includes 20 rounds of ammo. But for bigger guns like the Desert Eagle, it's $20 for only FIVE rounds.
If you are a local and want to shoot to practice, go to American Shooters or The Range 702. There is much more freedom there. You can take a look at the guns up close and personal before shooting. I find this to be a great advantage because if you're looking to buy a certain gun, you can really inspect it and get a feel for it before making a decision to purchase it. The staff as well are super knowledgable, which is what you really want if you're into guns. As said before, you can adjust how far you want to shoot your target at American Shooters. Last but not least, there is no one out there "baby-ing" you on the range. No one is holding your hand the whole time and you can load the magazine by yourself. Great range for practicing and shooting.
If you are a tourist and a first time shooter, sure the Gun Garage is probably the place for you. But if you are a local, by all means stay away and go to American Shooters.
