Bought a 2-hr ride for 2 via Groupon back in August as a gift for my daughter's 13th birthday; scheduled our ride for Oct 22, banking on cooler weather. I now know I should've waited until November, but we went from 9a-11a, and the temps weren't all that bad. I'd not thought to bring some type of bag for water & phone(s), and my purse is not ride-friendly (while on the ride I seriously thought about purchasing a fanny pack for next time...egads! Am I 'that' old now?!), so I had a couple learnings there.
The ladies who worked there were all very friendly & helpful; our Lead was solid on a horse and comfortable with the group (another family of 4 was on the same ride). I used to ride often as a kid, but no so much for the past 20 years...I am saddle sore! My daughter's never been on the backside of a horse, so today was one for our memory banks I rode Sonny Boy & my kiddo rode Sadie; both horses were great with us.
We both enjoyed the ride very much, but it was a bit lengthy for us ~ I plan on making this a yearly Mamma-Daughter activity, but we'll stick to one-hour rides!!
