  • My A/C unit went out and I called my home warranty company. They assigned Access Service group to come look at it. The technician came out on 9-9-2015 and diagnosed that I need a new motor and a blower wheel. The warranty company said they would pay for the motor but not the blower wheel. Access Service group charged me $270 to install the blower wheel. The tech comes out and installs the new motor and says everything is up and running. But I say I don't feel the air, he says its working fine and that's the best he can do. Then I say again, I cannot feel the air. Anyway, he says he can't do anything more to make it blow harder and says to sign the invoice. I paid the $270 and wrote on the invoice "not sure if AC is working correctly". I called the office as soon as he left and told them " I don't think he fixed the problem". But they say the tech said the problem is fixed, so its fixed. Sure enough, 2 hours later, the unit stopped working. I call them and they send another technician. He says the motor is fine, but the problem is the unit is low on freon. The office says its going to cost $800+ to locate the leak, fix it , and refill with freon. I say ok and then i called another company for a second opinion; they charged my $25. He said the motor is installed incorrectly. I then called Access group and told them what they said. Access group says if the motor is indeed installed correctly, I would have to pay another $45 service fee. After I complained about that, the service manager said if its installed correctly I would have to pay another $45 service fee but if its installed incorrectly, he would refund me back my initial $45 service fee. (I have this on voice mail), (They never give me back the refund). Access group sends out the first technician that installed the motor and he says the motor is running fine and the problem is that it is low on freon. I then call my home warranty company, told them the problem, they referred another company. As soon as the tech looked at the motor, he said its blowing backwards. I think he only switched the wires, but now its running fine. He said my freon is a little low but it should be fine. It took over 2 weeks to fix my AC. Now, I'm thinking if I really needed a new $270 blower wheel, because this company don't know what they're doing because they wanted to fix a freon leak $800+ that wouldn't even fix the initial problem. Or maybe a very smart company that knows how to ripoff unsuspecting customers. I talked to the service manager, he was no help. I even tried to speak with the owner, but he didn't returned my call, nobody wanted to help. I think they are laughing all the way to the bank, with the initial $45 diagnosis fee, $270 blower wheel, and whatever the home warranty company gave them. I'm upset at how this company handled this situation. I really don't think they were trying to cheat me but who knows. They just need better technician with a little more experience. They kept saying that he was their best technician and he couldn't make a mistake like that. They made me feel like I, owner of my own house, had no say of how something should be working. They are the professionals and they don't make mistakes. The service manager or the owner couldn't even call me to apologize. John
