Beware of the $29.95 CenturyLink scam. Here's what happened to me. I signed up for CenturyLink's $29.95/mo. internet deal under a 2-year contract. Here's what happened after I signed up:
1. My first bill was $212.58. A bit high, but I knew there would be up-front fees.
2. Two weeks into the service, I was contacted by CenturyLink and told unless I faxed a copy of my social security card to their head office, I would no longer be allowed to have internet with their company. No other form of ID would be accepted. I checked the CenturyLink website and their Privacy Policy says no one from CenturyLink will ever contact you via phone and demand so your social security number or credit card information so I refused.
3. My service was disconnected and I'm being told I will be charged a $200 early termination fee.
Long story short, it looks like I will be paying over $400 for two weeks of Internet service. Run from this company as fast as you can!!!
