I'm not sure what the big hype is about. I'm new to Calgary (it was my first weekend) and a local friend of mine brought me here. We stood in line and I have to say the one thing I really liked about Blue Star is that they offer to bring you a drink while you're waiting. It was a nice touch. My friend and I sipped on orange juice, which was very fresh, until a table was available. The wait time was typical of a brunch place on a Saturday so no complaints there.
I ordered two eggs, chicken sausage and hash browns. The eggs were fried crispy and the hash browns were extremely salty I could barely eat them. The chicken sausage was delicious however.
I wondered if I had picked the wrong dish. People seemed to order a bowl that had two poached eggs on top. I think that was the lamb sausage dish. That seemed popular. The salt on the potatoes though. I couldn't get past that.
