  • My house has been plagued by funky smells in warm weather; after ruling out a few obvious sources, my mind went to mold. I called a few companies, all of which deployed some pretty severe scare tactics (and hefty price tags just to come out)! I finally landed on Slate and was immediately reassured by Abby and my technician Chris who said he'd come give it the ocular pat down free of charge. After a lengthy investigation, Chris surmised it probably wasn't mold at all and instead pointed us in the direction of a good HVAC tech to clean a filthy duct that was likely pulling crawl space air into the house. Makes sense! In addition to setting our mind at ease, he was sure to share a few humorous anecdotes, personal stories and warnings about the dangers of liquid candles (note to self: never buy)! I'd recommend this honest, awesome company to anyone! As first time homeowners we've been through the ringer this year, we are so happy when we meet a company that's not only knowledgeable, but also genuinely cares. Thanks Slate (and Chris)! -Liz & Kris
