I came here a few months ago during the summer months after driving by several times and seeing the patio always packed with people. I loved the open and airy look to the place and was thrilled that Bakery Square actually landed a restaurant.
I'm not sure if this is my fault for going during lunch during the playoffs for the Pirates or if the place is always so damn loud, but the volume of the television was laughably loud. It became a running joke the entire meal how my friend and I couldn't hear each other across the table because the game was so loud. The place is all metal and wood too, so the acoustics made it even worse.
It was very very busy and there seemed to be tons of later 20 somethings/early 30 somethings there to watch the game. Our server was upbeat and friendly, and the artichoke dip we had to start with was fantastic. I had the shrimp po boy and it was messy and forgettable. My friend got the steak sandwich and instead of coming shaved it came with huge chunks of chewy meat. He said the flavor was good, but the texture was ridiculous.
Overall I'd try this place again on a non-game day because I actually like to enjoy the company I'm with. The branding of this place is so cool and I really really would like it to become a regular spot.
