My Mother died early this year. We hired West Coast Movers to pack and move her antique belonging from Scottsdale, AZ, to Sacramento, CA. We received all sorts of oral guarantees. The packers were nice enough although they arrived 8 hour late. We paid extra to ship certain items as standalone (nothing stacked on them). When the shipment arrived several weeks later (8 hours late again) over one-half of the items were damaged. The items we paid extra to have nothing stacked on them were at the bottom of the pile and damaged. They did not seem to care. It was like they ignored the issue entirely. They directed us to their claims department, which I am convinced is a sister company. We submitted a claim for over $8,000 for replacement or repairs. It took five months of chasing the claims company and re-sending photographs multiple time to finally receive a settlement offer of a grand total of $180. Yep, they wore me down. It was a take it or leave it offer. I either needed to sue them or accept the office. I accepted the offer just to settle my aggravated health issues caused by these yahoo's. The check arrive three weeks later. Yes, you guessed it the check was "unsigned"! I am now nine months into the process and have received nothing. Run from these people as fast as you can.
