Well, I was trying to get my pool heater fixed and a reputable pool service recommended BB&G since the pool service didn't work on heaters. I had an error code on the front of my heater that indicated the blower was bad, but on occasion it would work anyway. When the technician arrived, her troubleshooting consisted of being on the phone with someone more knowledgable (even for pretty basic questions) pretty much the entire time. Since she needed to phone-a-friend, she was disassembling panels from the heater with one hand and just letting them fall to the ground. The same degree of care was used when re-assembling the panels. When she was done, the verdict was "you need a new blower." I pretty much knew that from the beginning, and the slow-moving analysis that DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT THE BLOWER beneath the top panel cost me $100. She offered to come back and replace the blower for around $1K. I wish I wouldn't have called in the first place, I bought the $300 part online and fixed it myself.
I called and spoke to the co-owner a few days later to see if that was the kind of service I should have expected, and she told me that the technician is actually very knowledgable with heaters and pool remotes, but that she would get me a 25% discount on my next electrical project with BB&G. Thanks for the offer, but if this degree of performance is acceptable to the management I don't really want to entrust them with bigger projects.
