  • Where to begin. So, I began searching for a moving company around December 2016, in preparation for my February 2017 move. I received many quotes for various different companies, and decided to go with All My Sons because they had hugely popular reviews. My move was scheduled for February 25th at 9am. On that day, I got up early and finished packing a few last minute items in preparation for the movers to arrive at 9am. Well, 9am came and it went and no movers had arrived nor had I received any type of communication from the company. At about 10:30am I call the company and am told the movers would be there soon, so I wait. After about another hour, I call back and the dispatcher indicates that they are finishing up another job and would be at my apartment in about an hour. ANOTHER JOB?! My move was scheduled at 9am, how are they on another job??? Well, it seems the company double booked the 9am slot. Eventually, the movers show up at 1pm. They were very nice and got all of my items moved from my apartment to my storage unit in a reasonable amount of time. Now, I will admit this next part is totally my fault, because after the 4 hour late arrival, I should have taken my business elsewhere. But, I gave the company the benefit of the doubt and went ahead and scheduled my move from my storage unit to my home with them....BIG MISTAKE! On the second move, the team did arrive on time. As they were loading my items from the storage unit into the moving truck, it was brought to my attention that the base stand of my television was broken. And, not only was it broken, but the previous movers had sat it on top of my wooden night stand leaving several very deep scratches in my night stand. They finally load my things into the truck and we head over to my house. Upon arriving, I found it odd that the lead moving guy didn't ask for a tour so that he knew which rooms were which...this ultimately resulted in many items placed in the wrong rooms, but this is not the worst part. As they were moving my items into my home, many of my freshly painted walls incurred serval scratches and knicks as a result of their carelessness when moving my things. They bring my desk up to my office, which the previous movers insisted we disassemble for ease of transport, and set the pieces on the floor. When I ask them to put it together - a service promised by the field sales guy, and the first moving crew - I got a blank stare followed by "I'll try my best"...try your best?! You all are supposed to be a professional moving company, and you sent me a crew who had no idea how to assemble...anything! I then tell him, well I guess you need to call headquarters, because All My Sons took it apart so I expect All My Sons to reassemble it. He then goes on to say that he will assemble it...well, he did...POORLY. The desk is wobbly and I'm pretty sure if it's moved, it will collapse. After 2 very painful hours of watching my things get dropped, set up incorrectly, and ran into my walls they completed the job. A few days later, the cable guy comes to install my cable. He's in one of the bedrooms, and attempts to pull the dresser from the wall. As he is doing so, the huge 4x6 mirror that was supposed to be attached to the dresser begins to fall forward. Luckily I was standing there to catch it, otherwise that poor man would have been badly injured. How did the mirror fall you're probably asking yourself. Well, folks, it fell because the movers did not attach it to the dresser with the screws...they just sat it on top of it. Then something tells me to check the dresser in the other bedroom, and yep...you guessed it, same deal. I did call the company and they did send a couple of guys out to set up the mirror and dresser properly. After this ordeal, I did file a claim with the company and they did compensate me for the damage. I have moved at least 5 times in the last 9 years, and I must say this is the worst experience I have ever had with movers. I've moved across the country twice, and never experienced the amount of damage to my items that I did during this 35 mile move. Don't get me wrong, everyone at All my Sons who I interacted with was very kind. However, there seems to be a lot of incompetence within this company that comes at the expense of the customer. So, beware when choosing them to move your home, because they definitely didn't treat my items like they were their own.
