I've been a loyal supporter of Marche Bacchus over the past 10 years. But I was recently taken aback and felt mistreated by the owner on a recent visit. I had a luncheon with my staff of about 10 people and was greeted by the host very pleasantly sat us outside on the patio. It was a hot day in Las Vegas 105ºf-110ºf.
The misters were on with overhead fans and initially I thought that it may be better and cooler to sit inside. The host said of course he can seat us inside but also suggested adding an additional large standalone fan, which was near us but facing the upper deck patio. So we said ok. Later the waiter came over and started taking orders for drinks and we mentioned the additional fan. So he went over and proceeded to maneuver the fan. The owner stepped over and softly said 'leave it, they'll be ok'. I was quite surprised and taken aback. Almost said something but decided not to. Later on about 15 minutes into our meal I noticed that the owner had a small party of 4 that he joined and had lunch with. And guess what, the fan was pointed right there toward his table.
Anyway about the meal. The mussels were not that great per one of my guests. The Nicoise salad was unbalanced for some reason. It had about 20 whole olives, which I thought was excessive. Overall they still do a very good job with the food.
However given this lack of concern for the guest this was my last visit. A restaurant isn't only about the food. It's an experience, should be warm and inviting.
