I had been a long time patient (10+ yrs) here when I found it necessary to go on BadgerCare since my last check-up. Was told I needed to be approved now by the doctor. I was approved though told that they would "take a chance on me" and if I missed an appt. I would be dropped. I needed some repair work and a routine cleaning. Had to schedule two appts a couple of weeks apart. Went to the first appt. and all was fine. Showed up for the second appt. and was told my appt. had been scheduled for two days earlier which was at a time I had already had scheduled another commitment prior to making the two dental appts. thus would have seen such a conflict on my calendar. They rescheduled my appt. for two weeks from now which was fine with me since it was just the cleaning. That same afternoon a voicemail message was left asking me to call them. I did and was informed that they will no longer provide services for me and my appt. is cancelled since I missed an appt. I didn't miss an appt.; I showed up at the originally agreed upon day and time.
It sure is an eye-opener to be treated as a second-class citizen. It's also interesting to note the inconsistency between what DHA purports to be its Mission Statement and how it treats its patients. It doesn't demonstrate much compassion.
I won't be going back once I convert to a regular dental plan again which will be in the foreseeable future. DHA no longer deserves my trust, respect or business.
