Came here from out of state to attend U of I. When I got into town, my FORD truck made a squeaking sound. Know a mechanic back home and had him listen to it, and he told me it was the belt. Dave at Car X stated I needed a cam shaft (part which cost $300). When I left car wasn't squeaking but it was raining. About a week later the squeaking returned. Because I am a grad student taking a full load M-F and only get paid monthly and often take the bus.. I took it back within 60 days. Then he said, I needed parts that connect to my belt, another $300. I left to go get a second opinion. Turns out the wrong belt was placed on my truck at a Jiffy Lube which was causing the squeaking sound. Bought a new motorcraft belt at Worden Martin FORD (on Neil) for $100. (Saved $200) and guess what? No squeaks. I have noticed that if you have an IL license plate you do get better deals. If you are from out of state and have a FORD, I recommend taking it to a ford dealer--if you take it to Worden Martin Ford ask for Jeff. He is great and honest.
