| - I was mistaken; I was thinking the food served here would be some sort of fusion between Chinese and Mexican food. Rather, they serve both.
The twenty-vegetable fried rice was recommended by the waiting staff, so I tried it. It lacked a lot of flavor and was not at all like fried rice. It was more of a kamut and vegetable salad mix, if you ask me. The rice had a nutty flavor that was nice, though, and it paired well with the vegetables. However, I would hesitate to call it "fried rice."
The chilaquiles and tamale rojo were pretty good; I highly recommend the chilaquiles if you are a fan of cilantro.
Nothing really stood out to me about this place except for the churros--the churros were delicious. They were served hot with a chocolate dipping sauce, which I think was made with Mexican chocolate but I'm not quite sure. I wasn't a huge fan of the dipping sauce because I'm not a fan of chocolate that tastes like tootsie rolls. The churros were melt-in-your-mouth, empty inside, crispy on the outside, and were just delicious. I wasn't exactly too happy about the food, but the churros definitely brightened my experience here.
