| - Not sure why I gave Unknown Brewing the least attention when it first opened.... maybe I had reached my craft brewery limit for Charlotte, but these guys are a great addition to the queen city craft brewing scene.
I've been here a couple times and they have a great setup. The owner was super passionate about the building they are in - lots of hoops to jump through, the building was historic, but had a great location and great space. The tap room feels like you are walking into someone's house, arcade on the right... sectioned off rooms to your left... and as you walk further in you are hit by a wall of glass where you can see into where all the magic happens. Hang a left and you see the bar with TV screens for menus aloft - pretty smart for rotating taps and seasonal brews. I know a lot of breweries have their own menus: via chalkboard, wooden signs, or just old fashioned paper/ word of the keeps.
Table and chairs around... good for big groups or small... even a lounge area that's a bit more comfortable. There are board games everywhere - just an open, fun, and inviting space.
When I took a tour, you get a sense of the blood, sweat, and tears put into this place - no shortage of passion. As far as their brand's "motto" of living life to the fullest and going into the "Unknown" is really appealing and something everyone should strive for. Along one of the walls are photos of the breweries fans actually going out and tackling the "unknown": skydiving, rock climbing, boating, kids, adventure eating... it's a great time looking at all the photos and maybe even planning the spot where you can put up your own photo to add to the collage of awesomeness.
