Bands playing in a cage. Sounds like a great idea, right?
There are some unfortunate problems with the setup. The cage is a full metal fence which is about 7-8 feet high. Unfortunately, most of the lighting is aimed through the fence, so it is very hard to see what the band is doing.
The fence also serves as a physical barrier between the crowd and the band, which inhibits audience interactions.
So, the cage itself counteracts the advantages of seeing a band live. There must be a better way.
Unfortunately, the sound mixing was very problematic as well, and could not be fixed despite repeated efforts by the bands which played.
