  • I have been to the Huntersville location a few times. My last visit was several months ago. It is a horrible place to have to go, but a god-send when you need it. It is expensive, but it is a specialty/emergency practice that is open 24/7/365, after all. I was there late at night. When I walked in, there were no other people in the lobby. My wait was pretty long, and I was getting irritated by the fact that I was the only one there and it was still taking so long. My dog was admitted and when I was taken to the ICU area to say good night, it became abundantly clear why it took so long. There were no people in the lobby, but the ICU was slap full of patients! There were probably 15 or 20 dogs and cats, monitors beeping everywhere, and what looked like a comatose dog on a large bed on the floor with two nurses working on him. Other nurses were working with other patients. I couldn't believe my eyes. They were slammed. I am so sorry for being mad! I had no idea at the time just how overwhelming it can be behind the scenes. I had never been to the back area before this night. Despite all of that, the doctor took all the time I needed to answer my questions. He was wonderful.
