| - Recently booked a 80 min deep tissue massage at the green valley spa and resort. The spa itself is beautiful, very clean and very spacious.
Arrived 15 min prior to my treatment but my massage started at least 10 mins after my 5:00 appt, no clocks are available so I was not even sure what time my service began. I have had many massages over the years, so I pretty much know what to expect the minute the therapist begins.
After about 10 mins of stroking my left calf, I asked if she was doing a deep tissue, she said no she was not informed she was to do a deep tissue, with that she began "stoking", not massaging my calf harder.
An entire 10 mins wasted on my left calf.
Once she moved to my back, it was VERY clear this therapist was not experienced at all.
All I could think about was $225 for this? Nope, I stopped my treatment mid massage. I informed her I had changed my mind and I was only going to do 50 min. Only then did she begin using her hands and not her forearm to massage me, also half the time she only used one hand!
I spoke to the supervisor, Kaitlin, she was very kind and offered to give me a discount on this visit and my next visit. I replied it was not necessary for a future discount but to please compensate this treatment. I'm not looking to get any hand outs or get anything free, but I have to say I have had far better treatment at massage envy, of all places!
My advise, if you do book a treatment, request a seasoned therapist not one straight out of massage school.
Totally bummed out and super disappointed.
